This past month I had an experience that especially reminded me of the importance of showing gratitude to the plants that we are working with. These plants may show up as essential oils, teas, tinctures, yoni steaming herbs, or essences.
Showing gratitude to the plant is showing acknowledgement. It is coming to whatever task you are doing with intention and thanks. It’s recognizing that the plant you are working with will help you in some way. Just like all living beings, the plants also like a bit of recognition!
Last month I was working with a particular essential oil that I have worked with quite often in the past – and with great success! However, a few weeks ago, I was not fully present and did not remember to thank the oil. Finally, a after using the oil for a few days, I remembered to say ~ thank you.
What I noticed was that my past experiences with the oil had been very effective and amazing! This was when I was seriously in deep gratitude for the oil, for her properties, and for how she was working with me. The healing was fast and almost astonishing.
A few weeks ago, however, this same oil was helping me, to be sure! But not in the fascinating and almost magical way of the past. Boy, did I ever learn a lesson. GRATITUDE is so very important!
The other scenario that I consistently practice giving gratitude is when I am preparing my yoni steam session. These herbs and flowers have unique properties aimed at supporting us in one way or another. A great habit to get into is simply thanking the herbs as you toss them in to the water to steep. This can be as simple as saying, “Thank you herbs and flowers for your healing, love, and grace.”
These little nuances not only let the plants know that you value them, but it also sends the Universe a strong message that your heart is grateful and that you appreciate all that It provides you with. And that, my friends, is something to treasure and aspire to!
Blessings to you as you remember your strength, beauty, and inner light.
